Day 24 and our seedling tomato plants have developed several leaf levels, and their stems have strengthened. All tomato plants were fertilized earlier this week. Jalapeño seeds did not germinate but sweet peppers did and have now developed true leaves. Eggplant development is at various stages, but all look positive.
Tomatoes will most likely be ready for the Aug 8-9th yard sale. Eggplant and peppers will have to wait for a later date. The 2nd light shelf will allow room for repotting and indoor care of left over plants.
I’ve found a church group which sponsors a weekly parking lot sale, and they are begging for vendors. They seem to get a lot of traffic and might generate some sales. Problem is the state requires that I not only obtain a different category license, but I’d have to also purchase a license for the church group sponsor. I’d be out $300 to $400 before even renting a booth location. This new license would only allow for 10 sale days before having to obtain another license. Will it pay, probably not, but never fear, the public will be safe from vegetable plants, thank you state government!
